Year of Win Day 25: Short Story Win for K

Greetings! I hope this July week finds you well.  If I don't melt before August 1st, I'll call it a fine summer (it was 104 degrees in my neck o' the woods today. Brutal isn't a strong enough word...perhaps "gateway to hell" is more appropriate, but I digress).

Quick ROW80 check in--I wrote a short story this week as a break from editing the so-almost-done-I-can-taste it WIP, and from the new manuscript as well.  I had so much fun writing it, I clocked in a whopping 7000 words this past week!  My goal was 3500, so color me overjoyed! It's good, too, because I'll be in edit mode part-time, so my first draft's word count is likely to suffer the next few weeks. But I'm committed to sticking with it, and so I shall.

This week's Year of Win story is for my cousin K, who writes under the name Casea Major. K sold her second short story/novella this week. I'm really excited for her! It's exciting to share the writing journey with her. And even nicer to have a family member who gets what it's like to be a writer.  Congrats to K!
